3 Steps To Easily Market On Twitter [VIDEO]

  1. Do a search for the people you want to reach on LinkedIn.

    1. This will be a more targeted search than Google, though you could do this on Google as well. The downside is you will need to sift through much more data.

    2. Once you find them on LinkedIn, look at their contact info. They may have shared a Twitter handle. Regardless, harvest as much information as they have made publicly available into a spreadsheet or CRM.

  2. Find them on Twitter.

    1. Follow them.

    2. Add them to a private list. (See video.)

  3. Interact with them.

    1. Take the time to see what they care about, what they are tweeting about, about what drives them. This should take at least 1 week. Listen first.

    2. Start interacting with them. This is not asking them to hire you or to look at [ENTER SELLING MEDIA HERE - in my case, this would be my demos]. This is making thoughtful comments about what matters to them.

    3. Ask them how you can help them.

BONUS: after spending time interacting and building a relationship with these folks, when you want to start advancing the relationship, try asking for an opportunity to collaborate on a project together as opposed to selling them something.
