TikTok Week in Review [VIDEO]

Week of September 15-21, 2019

As TikTok continues to emerge as the newest platform with the possibility of challenging Instagram for attention and successor to Vine, I wanted to share the insights I’ve been gleaning so far as I’ve explored the platform.

This video shows all of the posts I made to TikTok from September 15-21, and I’ve included screen captures of the analytics. (I’ll post them below as well.) My goal is to show people what I’ve been doing so that they can begin to formulate their own TikTok strategy.

First, the video, and then some takeaways.

Takeaways:

  1. While I haven’t been able to dial in on the best time to post each day (I’ll be experimenting with that this upcoming week), I can say that for two weeks in a row, Saturday mornings have been good to me. My guess is that it’s people either laying in bed or on the couch, scrolling through the feed.

  2. My more humorous posts get a higher level of engagement from my audience. I wouldn’t go as far to say that’s the only way to go, as it may just be what people are looking for from me. That said, the majority of what I’ve seen on TikTok falls into the humor category, so take that for what its worth.

Here are the screen captures for the analytics.

Let me know if you have any questions.
